i think what's making him look cartoony are his eyes, they're a bit too big. Make sure you find a good reference or even a face drawing tutorial so you can understand the size of the eyes in proportion to the rest of the face. Maybe that's something to work on in your next sketch, since it'd be a shame to erase them because they're really well drawn!!
Also, the lower lip should be lighter than the upper lip as it is further out and gets more light.
other than a few things, this still looks really nice though. keep doin portraits!!!!
